Second stage of Feldman Ecopark’s Mountain Bike Championship: more participants, more drive

The second stage of the Feldman Ecopark Open Mountain Bike Championship took place on Sunday, August 27. This championship is carried out under the auspices of the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation,” with the organizational participation of “VeloKharkiv.” The professionals of mountain biking and the extreme sports enthusiasts were able to compete on the Crazy Bikes tracks. Everyone was able to take part in the races regardless of fitness level, but with appropriate gear. The competition gathered more than 70 participants including very young cyclists. The special nomination was even introduced for the latter.

“The championship became even cooler: the distance was increased from 3,200m to 5,600m, the track became wider, there are more obstacles on it now, as well as technically difficult elements: rises and lacets. There is also more drive now,” the main judge of the championship Oleksii Korchak told. “Nevertheless, despite the difficulty of competition, there are even more participants, and all of them have managed to cover the distance without leaving it. This time, in addition to Amateurs, Athletes and Women categories, the new one – Children – appeared. The new and worthy generation grows up, and it is natural, as Kharkiv is rightly considered the capital of cycling in Ukraine.”

It should be noted that all participants were insured by the Mega-Polis company for the competitions absolutely free of charge. The winners were awarded with certificates and medals from the organizers, as well as the valuable prizes – the certificates issued by Extreme Style allowing to buy sports gear.

It should be reminded that the cross-country bicycle track Crazy Bikes located in the picturesque place near the Three Lakes appeared in Feldman Ecopark in the beginning of this year. The cycle track includes an 8km route with 500m, 1,000m, 3,200m, and 5,000m circuits, counter slopes, 12 shors with the length of more than 150m, three wooden sections, small pump sections and 20-centimeter drops. Both the skilled athletes and the beginners are able to use the track. The ecology project Feldman Crazy Bikes was arranged within the 1,000 Teams Tournament programme of the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation.”
