The new directions for children with Down syndrome (DS) and parents needing affirmation opened in the Feldman Ecopark Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation.
“Every Tuesday the classes in equine-assisted therapy for DS children are given in the Ecopark. Kids learn team up work, taking care of Feya, the pony. Participants distribute duties and assume the roles of equestrians, horse breeders and even trainers — the head of psychological service of the Centre of Psychological Rehabilitation Feldman Ecopark, the Candidate of Psychological Sciences Tetiana Aliieva told. — During the lessons children watch each other, are socialized and also strive with fears”.
Today, the adults are also able to rest from everyday vanity and to build up harmonious relationship with the nature. The new direction for parents – stress-relief hours opened in the Centre. Mothers and fathers can leave children under guardianship of the specialists of the Centre and find time for their psychological health.
“The Specialists of our Centre conduct with parents various exercises and discussions with use relaxation techniques aimed at increasing stress tolerance and support of their emotional state — the head of the medical service of the Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation of the Feldman Ecopark, the Candidate of Medicine Inna Vashkite noted. — While parents have a rest, their children are engaged in the animal therapy and strengthen their psycho emotional health”.
