The stork which appeared in the Regional Landscape Park approximately a year ago including other birds which found a safe harbor thanks to the rescue service “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” laid eggs and in a month the nestling has to appear.
“Storks freely walk around the Feldman Ecopark’s territory or in specially designated areas. If the nestling is healthy, then within a short time the visitors will be able to see the baby bird among relatives” — the Feldman Ecopark’s deputy director of zootechnics Valeriia Ivashchenko says.
At storks both parents participate in making nests and brooding. The incubatory period proceeds 30-35 days. The storks’ nestlings are born covered with light gray floccus and grow up fast, spending the first one and a half months in a nest, and then leaving it for growing period of time.
The specialists of the All-Ukrainian Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home,” saved the storks caught up in trouble, both in the different areas of Kharkiv oblast and the neighboring regions – Poltava, Sumy and Dnipro. In total the rescue service lend support to more than one thousand birds and mammals.
