Balakliia residents obtained medical and psychological assistance from Feldman Ecopark Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation

The fire on the 65th arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Balakliia (Kharkiv oblast) became an ordeal for the residents of the town. In this connection, Regional Health Administration sent medical experts to the emergency zone. On April 1, Tetiana Aliieva and Inna Vashkite, the representatives of the Feldman Ecopark Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation visited Balakliia.

The specialists of the Centre have huge experience of work with people who faced a difficult psychological situation. Earlier, Tetiana Aliieva and Inna Vashkite rendered assistance to the IDPs from Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, as well as to the ATO soldiers and their families. That is why the workers of the Centre not only know how to work with similar categories of people, but also understand how important it is.

Inna Vashkite, the head of the medical service of the Centre: “The primary reaction to the stressful situation may cause further maladjustment of a person and subsequently lead to various neurotic disorders. That is why, at this stage, it is also important to render psychotherapeutic assistance with specific orientation for the future.”

Tetiana Aliieva and Inna Vashkite visited the centres for evacuated residents of Balakliia, and talked to the victims. The head of psychological service of the Centre Tetiana Aliieva noted that the main task of mental health specialists is the provision of the qualified medical and psychological assistance to people who stayed on the territory of emergency in Balakliia. “The formation of the ‘reservoir’ of skills of mental adaptation under the stress conditions and the stabilization of emotional conditions are among the main targets of psychological impact,” she summed up.

The specialists of the Centre also invited the residents of Balakliia to visit Feldman Ecopark. The workers of Ecopark developed the special programme including hot dinners for them. The rich programme allows the visitors to recover after the stress and to relax. Everyone will also be able to undergo the rehabilitation course developed by the specialists of the Centre of Psychosocial Rehabilitation.
