Our foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary. This jubilee is celebrated during the difficult times for the whole our country, but at the same time we do this with all our friends, with the hope for the better and with faith in goodness. We have made a lot, but we still have a lot to do.
20 years ago, in the middle of 1990s, we created a charitable foundation in Kharkiv. It was partly a spontaneous decision made right from the heart and significantly changing all my life. Once having started to sincerely help people – to do good – it becomes just impossible to stop. There is the wish to do more, to do better, to do more correctly. It’s just something like a “philanthropic addiction.” As wise men of the past said, the reward for a good deed is the opportunity to make another good deed.
During 20 years of existence, our foundation, like many other charitable organizations in our country, went through a thorny path from the situational assistance to those who need it to the regular work on the long-term humanitarian projects. In the end of the last century is appeared as a municipal foundation, and already 10 years later is became international. “Let’s Protect Childhood,” “1,000 Teams Tournament,” “Public recognition,” “Memory and Gratitude,” AVEC Gallery, Feldman Ecopark: all these and many other projects deserved acknowledgement not only in Ukraine, but also abroad. I am proud that today, our charitable foundation is not only the dozens of bright projects, which became a hallmark of Kharkiv, an adornment and a pride of the country, but also southlands of saved lives. It is worth living and working for.
There have always been people, who need assistance, and those who can and wants to help. Everyone can help. It is the source of charity. It arises to live in all of us. The traditions of charity must not remain in the past. We can preserve and multiply them, we can extend mercy, and we can let goodness into our hearts.
The history of the foundation is built on hundreds of thousands of people and thousands organizations, which became its co-authors. All of them – partners, soul mates, and colleagues – are the friends of our charitable foundation! Today, our organization numbers thousands of volunteers around the world. Thank you for your cordiality, empathy and purposefulness.
This 20th anniversary is, first of all, your merit and your holiday.
Together, we managed to do a lot, and together, we will be able to do everything!
New good deeds, the implementation of projects and programmes for the benefit of people are ahead. The work bringing joy and giving the sense of life is ahead.
