Feldman proposes to move Ukraine’s embassy in Israel to Jerusalem

Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman proposes the Parliament to charge the Cabinet of Ministers to initiate the moving of the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. According to the information published on the Parliament’s website, the relevant draft decree No. 5715 was registered in Verkhovna Rada on January 25.

The explanatory note to the document states that this decision should be made on the assumption of the fact that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel since 1950, it is the “residence of the President of Israel, the Parliament and the Supreme Court. It is also the spiritual centre of Judaism and is considered a sacred city by the representatives of other religious confessions.” “Today, as never before, we need mutual understanding and mutual assistance. For this purpose, it is necessary to take real steps symbolizing the support of fundamental values of our nations.

And one of them is the moving of the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel to its capital, the city of Jerusalem,” the document states. It should be reminded that Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman is the member of the parliamentary group for inter-Parliamentary relations with the State of Israel in Verkhovna Rada of ІV-VІІІ convocations.
