The Eastern grey kangaroo enlarges the animal collection of Feldman Ecopark. It will become the fourth representative of this marsupial, the natural habitat of which is the east of Australia.
“A boy feels fine, it gets used to the new place. It will live with three females of the same species in the special enclosure. In spring, the visitors of Feldman Ecopark will be able to see it. Meanwhile, the animal is in quarantine under the supervision of veterinarians, it undergoes all the necessary adaptive procedures,” Feldman Ecopark’s deputy director of zootechnics Valeriia Ivashchenko told. “This kangaroo is very active and playful. It likes apples, pumpkin, carrot and bananas. Its diet also includes various grain mixtures. These animals have a distinctive mind and sagacity; they are easy to get in touch with people. In Ecopark, the young naturalists work with them.”
It should be reminded that in the end of September 2016, three Eastern grey kangaroo females arrived in Feldman Ecopark. Jerusalem Biblical Zoo presented them within the rare animals exchange program. They are the sole representatives of this species in Ukraine. The animal collection of Feldman Ecopark also includes four Bennett’s tree-kangaroos.
