Four little ponies became new residents Feldman Ecopark

Tiny Shetland pony – one of the smallest ponies in the world settled in Feldman Ecopark. They are four of them, they’re 10-14 months old and all of them are boys. The foals got the same names as “Ninja Turtles” – Leo, Mike, Don and Ruff. Now kids accustom on the new place – they received warm and comfortable apartments in the Horse Complex. They have yet to get acquainted and make friends with the neighbors – other ponies, horses and burros. When Shetlands get stronger and grow up, they will be able to choose activities according to interest.

It should be noted that this breed of tiny hoofed animals is called so in honor of the homeland – the severe Shetland Islands located to the North from Scotland. These are very unpretentious, enduring, hardy and strong horses. Initially they were used as draft force in coal mines in England. In Feldman Ecopark the Shetland ponies will get more creative professions – the actor, the athlete, the therapist.

“These ponies are very sociable, friendly and clever by nature. They are born jumpers and racers. In many countries they are used as trainers for young equestrians, the sports competitions among little ponies are also held. Children adore them. The ponies are beautiful partners for games; often participate in rehabilitation of children with special needs. These mini-horses help in treating children with an ICP, autism, neurosises and other serious diseases. Tiny Shetland ponies are very bright, they are good at studying different tricks, understand a person. Therefore many of them become circus actors, and some even with success replace the guide dogs. They quickly remember a necessary route and thanks to quiet balanced nature react to external irritants rarer than dogs – the head of humanitarian programs Feldman Ecopark Irina Yavorskaya told. – In the Ecopark we have all listed directions where Leo, Mike, Don and Ruff – our little hoofed superheroes – will be much demanded and will show their talents soon”.

The four tiny Shetland ponies have yet to be determined with their creative path. Whether they should go to the Horse Complex riding school or to the Theatre of Children and Animals’ school of acting skills, or even to become pony therapists in the Center of Psychosocial Rehabilitation. It will become clear in the new, 2017th year.
