Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman wished Jews a happy Rosh Hashanah – the new year of 5777.
“I wish not only Kharkiv’s Jewish community, but the community of the whole Ukraine a happy Jewish New Year. It is a very serious holiday. It is the holiday of summing-up. It is the time to see into our own hearts, to reconsider everything that has been done, everything that hasn’t been done yet, or maybe there was something you’d like to do in a different way. It is the time to analyze all your deeds during the previous year and to repent of the faults,” Oleksandr Feldman emphasized. “It is the holiday when we assess the events of the past. It is the holiday when we ask the God to make the next year better. It is the holiday of the renovation of soul, the holiday of the renovation of the whole life!”
“It is customary to pay special attention to close people by lavishing care and warmth upon them these days. We believe that the more good you give out, the more good you yourself receive in the new year. It is customary to gather at the table and eat the main course of honey and apples symbolizing the wish of a sweet year we are asking from the God. Shanah Tovah Umetukah!” Oleksandr Feldman said.
