Feldman Ecopark was presented at the conference of the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums

The director Feldman Ecopark Andrey Roshchupkin participated in the World conference of the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA) which took place in Belfast (Northern Ireland).

In the section of a conference devoted to alternate members of EAZA (Feldman Ecopark received the status of the candidate in the spring of this year) Andrey Roshchupkin provided the report devoted to Ecopark’s achievements and also presented the project of complex development of a zoo within Feldman Ecopark.

“We focused attention that Feldman Ecopark is not just a zoo. It is the large social charitable project, a multipurpose complex in which each person can feel that we are a part of the nature and that everyone in the world must live in harmony, respect and peace, – Andrey Roshchupkin noted. – The Ecopark actively develops, the conditions of animal keeping according to requirements of EAZA are improving, unique projects, in particular, on psychosocial rehabilitation of children and adults which already became the business card of Ecopark are implemented”.

According to the director Feldman Ecopark, the presented project was positively apprehended by the participants of the international forum. The participation in the plenary meetings and other actions which were taking place within the conference was also important: they allowed to obtain information and to deepen knowledge of current trends of development of zoos.

Besides, as Andrey Roshchupkin noted, meetings and negotiations with EAZA management, and also representatives of tens of zoos of Europe and the world which were devoted, in particular, to development of programs for exchange of animals were fruitful. The arrangement on transfer of a kiang to Feldman Ecopark from the Riga zoo (Latvia) became one of their results.
