The family of guenon-like monkeys Feldman Ecopark was expanded with the new settler – a small white-nosed monkey. The monkey shared the comfortable open-air cage with other four relatives living here.
“The girl is one and a half years old. As well as all representatives of this species, the monkey is very sociable, curious, and restless. The group of white-nosed monkeys warmly accepted the new neighbor. They already managed to flirt one after another and to taste a favorite dish together: fruit made dish from peaches, bananas and grapes”, – the deputy director Feldman Ecopark Valery Ivashchenko tells.
We will note that small white-nosed monkeys live in the Western Africa – from Sierra Leone to Benin. They live in big groups in a certain territory. The family consists of a male, several females and their posterity. These monkeys are known for the bright coloring and a curious way of communication. Among the African handsome it is easy to distinguish boys and girls: the first make rough, deep sounds, and the second – melodious chirping. Besides, the white-nosed monkeys use glory of the thriftiest primacies: at dinner bright monkeys not only eat food, they try to put by a part of products, using retrobuccal bags.
We will remind that in Feldman Ecopark besides the white-nosed monkeys primacies of 30 other types live. In total about 200 monkeys live in the Regional Landscape Park – it is the biggest collection of primacies in Ukraine.
