Volunteers of the Kharkiv region transferred five young storks in Feldman Ecopark. It will be possible to see new residents of the Regional Landscape Park in one of the open-air cages at the lake. Transfer of animals took place within activity of the All-Ukrainian Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home”.
“Birds had negligible injuries — the veterinarian Feldman Ecopark Anna Zhukovskaya told. — The complex therapy awaits feathery newcomers. They will undergo deworming and will receive the vitaminized medicines for immunity strengthening”.
Besides, as told in the Ecopark, a special diet including fresh fish and meat has been made up for the birds. Whether storks will be able to return back in the nature or will stay in Feldman Ecopark, experts don’t predict yet.
“Storks are one of those birds who aren’t frightened by the neighbourhood with the person. They safely twist nests right near the houses and quite often get on master’s kitchen gardens therefore, unfortunately, in spite of the fact that people consider these birds to be a symbol of happiness and quiet family life filled with joy — storks often become the victims of cruelty of people” — the veterinarian Feldman Ecopark Anna Zhukovskaya told.
We will remind that the All-Ukrainian Service for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” conducts work more than 3 years. During this time her experts managed to save thousands of the tiniest creatures, including also birds. Only this summer in Ecopark several hundreds of martins, big-eared owls, hoopoes, jays, bitterns and swans were cured and released in the nature.
