Unique operations which were carried out in the Center of Children’s Cardiology and Institute of Heart are pride of Ukraine and Ukrainians, – the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Alexander Feldman commented the Ukraine’s first implantation of mechanical heart on his Facebook page.
“Tremendous news of achievements of the Ukrainian cardiology – I think, everyone is already aware of unique operations on heart which were carried out by doctors in the Center of Children’s Cardiology and Institute of Heart – cause sincere pride of Ukraine and of Ukrainians! This is indeed a major breakthrough in domestic medicine and science, and we again have managed to show that Ukraine is an integral part of the European space, and is a full participant of many important world processes”, – Alexander Feldman wrote.
At the same time he emphasized that the situation in our country in many directions is far from satisfactory. “In many directions we have lagged behind, have hopelessly got stuck in the past, and separate beginnings of the future, unfortunately, don’t change the overall picture yet. Therefore it is very important today, for politicians especially, but also for society in general, to learn to integrate this two Ukraine in single understanding – conditional Ukraine of the past and Ukraine of the future, – the politician emphasized. – We have a difficult country which cannot be described in simple terms with negative implication – “periphery”, or “a buffer zone”, or, especially, “failed state”. The policy concerning Ukraine which would be formed on similar one-dimensional understanding will inevitably fail. As well as the inherent foreign policy of Ukraine is conducted from the position of victim”.
Alexander Feldman reminded that this day 69 years ago the countries of Europe have accepted the plan of Marshall: the unique project in which strong helped defeated, the former aggressor.
“I am sure that the strong effect of the plan of Marshall which has had a major impact on the economy of Europe owes much to the atmosphere of mutual respect which was established between donors and recipients of the help. Ukraine counts on a support of the European countries, and it is right. Of course, we lack Ebert, Strauss and Adenauer, but if we want them to appear, we need other policy – not policy of squabbles and conflicts, disrespect and hatred, but creation, mutual respect and real responsibility – almost religious founded on Faith in human, the country and the fellow citizens as it was in post-war Germany. We need to learn self-respect, force, advantage and responsibility in acceptance of such support. We are not the victim country; we are the country with high potential, capable to become the motor for many positive processes in Europe. Young heart pumps blood quicker”, – Alexander Feldman emphasized.
We will remind that on July 12 in Kiev at Institute of Heart the Ukraine’s first operation on implantation of mechanical heart was performed.
