New settlers – a couple of snowy owls appeared in Feldman Ecopark. The birds are two years old. The polar handsome got to specialists of Ecopark from the residents of Kharkiv region.
“A family which got birds as pets, owing to financial difficulties couldn’t supply them with proper leaving conditions and food. Children brought owls to us, and we volunteered to help animals with pleasure – the bird’s couple already underwent necessary medical procedures and inspections. Soon we will start construction of the comfortable, spacious open-air cage for it”, – the deputy director Feldman Ecopark Valery Ivashchenko told.
According to employees, the good owl’s open-air cage is a separate natural corner with elements of a mountain landscape. Besides, in it there has to be enough scope that the bird could fly and be quick to grasp food as it does in nature. New such open-air cage for polar newcomers is planned to be built up soon.
Now snowy owls live in temporary houses and get used to new caring hands. The animal keepers of Ecopark say that though owls overcome a small stress because of not planned moving, but thus behave rather friendly and joyfully contact people.
We will note that four owls live in Feldman Ecopark today – couple of polar owls and couple of eagle owls. In addition to it, the experts of Feldman Ecopark nurse three big-eared owls which were brought here earlier by our visitors. As soon as birds get stronger, they will be released to nature.
