Scientific conference and pony agility: young naturalists of Feldman Ecopark sum up

Annual closing conference of the Club of Young Naturalists of the Feldman Ecopark for 2015-2016 year of education gathered the members of the Club of Biologists, the Theatre of Children and Animals, and the Horse Complex. The young naturalists presented their reports about the researches carried out in the Ecopark and outside.

In particular, the report by Katia Kravchenko and Katia Kanevska was devoted to some ethological peculiarities of parrots. Masha Lisovska told about the results of the research of wolf’s reaction to human behaviour. Liza Pokhodenko and Vlada Bondarieva studied the questions of improvement of animals housing in zoos. Dasha Doroshuk, Yulia Zaklipenko, Alena Haliotova and Ruslan Semeikin shared the results of the research of animal population near the Siverskyi Donets river in the National Nature Park “Gomilshansky lissy”, and Stas Dvoinos studied this topic on the example of Liman lake.

This summer and during the next year of education, the members of the Club of Young Naturalists will continue to develop their directions of scientific activity, and start to work on new subjects.

In addition, on May 29, on the territory of the Horse Complex of the Feldman Ecopark, the agility competitions for pony-club members were held. 30 participants aged 2.5 to 6, were able to demonstrate their skills obtained during the lessons in the Club. All participants were awarded with diplomas, medals and ice cream.

The similar competitions, as final lessons of the pony-club, are held regularly, once or twice a year. It is planned to carry out competitions in agility on horseback for more skilled members.

“All children made a great job, of course, and they have a great future. These are their first steps. But the talent and enthusiasm demonstrated by them today, will become a guarantee of their future success. We are proud of the achievements of our students, and we think it is our duty to support talented, gifted children,” Andrii Roshchupkin, the director of the Feldman Ecopark noted.

It should be reminded that this year, the young naturalists of the Feldman Ecopark were the prize-winners of national competitions, including the competition of young inventors and innovators in ecological and naturalistic field and the national competition of children’s research papers in the field of natural history “Young Researcher”. The young naturalists of the Theatre of Children and Animal also showed success during the Intel Eco-Ukraine 2016, the national competition of scientific and technical projects, the national competition of young zoologists and breeders, and the Ukrainian Souvenir, the national competition exhibition.
