“Ukrainian Cossacks are the unique phenomenon not only for our history, but for the world one as well. Our collection opens an interesting part of Cossacks’ life. Because it is impossible to imaging Ukrainian hetman or a representative of high rank Cossack ‘starshyna’ without a signet ring. These objects were heritable, because they demonstrated noble origin and wealth of its owner,” the owner of the Feldman Family Museum collection, Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman tells.
According to his words, the rings exhibited in the Museum of Art are the echo of the Cossack fame, the memory of people who fought for Ukraine.
“Every nation must know own history in order to create the present and the future. The era of the Cossacks still fascinates us with its special energy, love of freedom, and heroism. I hope our project “The warrior’s way – one for two” and the exposition of signet rings in particular will help to understand the Cossack era deeper,” the collector adds.
It should be reminded that the exposition is carried out within the framework of the project “The warrior’s way – one for two” in the Bogdan and Varvara Khanenko Museum of Art (15-17, Tereshchenkivska Str.)
