Feldman: 1,000 Teams Tournament is to unite different sports

1,000 Teams Tournament, that has already become the hugest futsal competition in Ukraine, will unite different sports. This was stated by the founder of the Tournament, Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman.

“Our task is to popularize healthy lifestyle in all of its aspects, and first of all among children and youth. That is why, in addition to futsal, we are going to support and develop many other sports within the 1,000 Teams Tournament,” Mr. Feldman told.

According to the plan of organizers, the 1,000 Teams Tournament will become a unique project for Ukraine providing opportunities for free training and sports competitions. Everyone will be able to take part in them regardless of the age and initial physical abilities. For this purpose, the hugest in Kharkiv sports ground for open-air trainings and going in for sports will be soon opened in the Feldman Ecopark.

“We are going to hold winter and summer futsal, ping pong, park volley, streetball, cyclo-cross, cross-country run, and chess tournaments. Both children and their parents will be able to tear themselves away from computers and TVs for a while and to devote themselves to sports. The special health-improving programs were developed for people with special needs,” Mr. Feldman noted.

The competitions will be arranged in cooperation with the professional sports federations, which will become the members of the Feldman Ecopark-Sport club.

It should be reminded that 1,000 Teams Tournament is held upon an initiative of Oleksandr Feldman since 2001. It is the first in Ukraine, large-scale project directed at the revival of sport for children and young people. During the time of its existence over a million schoolchildren took part in the competition. The competition started the long-term charitable program of the ICF “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation” titled “Take children away from the streets.” It is planed to make the Tournament an international competition soon. Young footballers from Germany, Poland, Israel and other countries have already expressed readiness to take part in it.
