Young scientists and the member of the Club of Young Naturalists of the Feldman Ecopark Kateryna Kanevska is among the leaders of the II age category of the All-Ukrainian competition exhibition “Ukrainian Souvenir.” According to the decision of the competent judges, the author’s work by Kateryna titled “Baba Yaga” was recognized as one of the best in Ukraine. The young naturalist of the Feldman Ecopark was awarded with an honorary certificate of the National Ecological and Naturalistic Centre of Students, and her work is currently exhibited on the permanent exhibition of the Centre’s School of Folk Crafts in Kyiv.
It should be noted that the winner of the competition teaches the guests of the Feldman Ecopark to create the similar masterpieces each holiday weekend. The young naturalists Kateryna Kanevska and Mariia Yehorova carry out open master classes of creation of Ukrainian folk souvenirs including author’s puppets.
Reference: the All-Ukrainian competition exhibition “Ukrainian Souvenir” is held every year by the National Ecological and Naturalistic Centre of Students under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The teams from out-of-school institutions and schools from across the country take part in the competition. The age of the participants is not limited. The works accepted by the organizing committee include handmade toys and designer’s souvenirs. They are made of natural and eco-friendly materials: clay, wood, willow, straw, grass, natural fabrics, and salt dough.
