The Feldman Ecopark is going to be reconstructed before the beginning of summer season. This was informed by the founder of the Regional landscape park, Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman.
“We want to make the Ecopark more comfortable for animals living in it, and more interesting and spectacular for the visitors. That is why, the serious work will be done in spring: the new enclosures will be constructed, and the existing ones will be reconstructed, the territory will be improved,” Mr. Feldman noted.
The territory with the enclosures will be increased: the kennel will be relocated, and the new enclosures will appear on its place. Many animals will get new, more comfortable summer homes. The necessity to construct new enclosures is connected with the appearing of new animals in the Feldman Ecopark. In particular, the Ecopark has already welcomed turtles, and therefore, the special new home for them will appear.
The special attention will be paid to animals, the collections of which are the pride of the Feldman Ecopark and ones of the largest in Ukraine: the collections of primates and predators. In particular, the enclosures will be constructed for two couples of cheetahs, hyenas, caracals, small predators (genette, marten, Bengal cat, coati, Maine Coons), Black crested mangabey (medium-sized primates), squirrel monkeys (small primates).
As for the birds, the new enclosures will be constructed for common cranes, demoiselle cranes, black crowned cranes, great bustards, parrots, waterfowls, and pelicans. The other animals will not be disregarded as well. Tropical ground squirrels, brown bears, Asian black bears, moose, camels and yaks will also get their new spacious enclosures.
In addition, the new premises will be constructed for the animals, which gave birth to the babies. This will make it possible for them to take care of the babies in more comfortable conditions.
It is planned to end the reconstruction before the birthday of the Feldman Ecopark, celebrated in the beginning of June.
It should be noted that near 2,000 animals of 200 species lives currently in the Feldman Ecopark. Its area is 140.5 ha. On average, 1,500,00 guests from 24 countries of the world visit the Regional landscape park during the year.
