Feldman Ecopark gives horse riding lessons for special children

The lessons for the children with special needs were launched in the Feldman Ecopark. These horse riding lessons are given by the specialists of the Horse Complex. The first introductory lessons were already attended by the children from the Kharkiv Centre of early social and pedagogic and labour rehabilitation of disabled children “Promin.”

Rehabilitation horse riding course started with the acquaintance with the main horses-therapists of the Ecopark: the children were able to feed animals vegetables and fruits, to take care of them: to clean and comb them and to braid their mane. As soon as the children get used to animals, they will be able to go for a walk with horses on the territory of the riding school.

The next stage of the work is riding: the children will have to master such kinds of sports as show jumping, dressage test and agility.

“Horse riding is an indispensable form of physical therapy. It sets many groups of muscles in motion. The rehabilitation effect is consolidated by the positive emotions of a child,” the trainers of the Horse Complex note. “This form of interaction with horses helps children to relax, to fight down their fears, and to become more open and communicative.”

It is planned that in April, the children from Promin Centre will additionally start to attend psychocorrective lessons by specialists of the Ukraine’s only Centre of psychosocial rehabilitation of the Feldman Ecopark.

It should be noted that the Feldman Ecopark and all directions of its activity are the general project of the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation,” that is why the services are free of charge.
