Feldman: Our exhibition is an attempt to create place for tolerance

The exhibition “The warrior’s way – one for two” of Cossack and samurai weapons from the Feldman Family Museum collection opened in Bogdan and Varvara Khanenko Museum of Art on March 11.

“We wanted to show the parallel of two completely different cultures, completely different ideologies: Cossacks, who served the people and the state, and samurai movement, the warriors of which served only feudal lords,” told the patron and the collector Oleksandr Feldman during the exhibition opening ceremony.

The whole exposition includes near 70 different samples of Cossack and samurai weapons, including the unique historical arms.

According to Mr. Feldman, after the termination of the exhibition, the part of exhibits will remain as the present to the Bogdan and Varvara Khanenko Museum of Art.

“Our exhibition is an attempt to create place for tolerance, place for friendship, and to popularize cultural and historical heritage of Cossacks in the global context, as the bearers of the national fighting spirit,” the patron noted.

The exhibition is open from March 10 to April 30. It will also include lectures, open excursions and folk music evenings.
