A fawn whose rescue was mentioned in the Kharkiv media successfully undergoes rehabilitation in the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home”. Ungulate representative of wild fauna received first veterinary aid, and now the specialists decide on appropriateness of surgical intervention for treatment of an old injury.
“It is a male of a roe, aged about 2-3 years. In general, the animal feels good, but has a bad limp (off hind leg injury). It is an old malunited fracture. An operation on leg recovery is accompanied by certain risks therefore, it hasn’t been done yet. We’ll monitor it for some time, – in Feldman Ecopark told. – Our veterinarians carried out anti-parasite treatment, withdraw analysis, prescribed maintenance therapy, prick vitamins. In a few days day we plan to take a roe from a quarantine to the enclosure with five relatives”.
According to the Feldman Ecopark Good Home specialists, the roe “on three legs” won’t be able to live long in the nature, it is possible to return such animal to the habitat only after carrying out difficult operation and complete rehabilitation. So far, the forest inhabitant rescued by kindhearted people will stay in the Multi-Complex – on full board and under supervision of veterinarians.
It should be reminded that recently 2 one-year-old reindeer females arrived in Feldman Ecopark from the Czech Zoo. Today, the animal collection of the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex comprises about 40 individuals of the Ungulate Family of different species.
Besides, it should be reminded that since the opening of the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home”, its workers have already found new owners to nearly 22,000 pets and rescued more than 6,000 wild animals. The programme is implemented under the patronage of the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation”.
