Jetta, the dog being mentioned in the Kharkiv media is already fully recovered after operation and undergoes rehabilitation in the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home”. Now the animal protection activists try to find a responsible owner for it.
“Jetta’s history was tragic, like many of those stray animals getting to our Centre. Few months ago, a stray dog appeared in one of villages of the Derhachi district. Locals started feeding the animal. One of them found a collar that grew into the dog’s body and caused it pain and suffering and sought the assistance of our Service — the head of “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” Iryna Podvoiska remembers. — The question raised wasn’t simple – the dog was afraid and kept away from people. Finally, we managed to catch Jetta and to bring to the veterinary hospital. It turned out that the collar grew into so deeply that soft tissues began to appear on it— the surgical interference was required. Nevertheless, everything went well, the wounds healed and now Jetta is feels great. A dog will stay in our Centre, complete a course of rehabilitation and socialization while we together with volunteers try to find home and loving family for it”.
It should be reminded that the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” is engaged in the help to animals since 2010. The project aimed at rescue of animals from ill-treatment, help to wounded animals and those got into trouble, reduction of quantity of stray animals with use of humane methods. The programme is implemented under the patronage of the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation”.
