Feldman Ecopark Good Home Sheltered Wolf from Chernihiv Oblast

The Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” took a wolf from the Chernihiv oblast on rehabilitation. According to the Ukrainian mass media, a gray predator was kept chained like a dog in one of rural households without any legal basis and with violation of keeping conditions. Being afraid for the animal’s health and safety of people, the animal protection activists took away the wolf and brought it in Feldman Ecopark.

“The wolf was brought on February 10, late at night. We accommodated him in the quarantine enclosure and provided appropriate care. The condition of an animal is satisfactory. This is the adult male, not starveling, without visible serious injuries. An animal has bleeding gums, but our veterinarians will deal with it. Now the animal is recovering from transportation, accustoms on the new place, gets used to animal keepers, – the head of the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” Iryna Podvoiska told. – In parallel, we conduct examination, dehelmintization and other necessary procedures, we prepare it for vaccination. If it becomes clear that the animal won’t be able to return to the nature – grew up in captivity or is a metis (a hybrid with a dog) – we will be engaged in his socialization”.

It should be reminded that the Centre for Wild, Exotic and Domestic Animals Rescue “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” is engaged in the help to animals since 2010. The project aimed at rescue of animals from ill-treatment, help to wounded animals and those got into trouble, reduction of quantity of stray animals with use of humane methods. Since the opening of the Centre, its workers and volunteers have already found new owners to nearly 22,000 pets and rescued more than 6,000 wild animals. The programme is implemented under the patronage of the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation”.

Besides, it should be reminded that in 2017, the all-Ukrainian free hot-line service was launched on the basis of “Feldman Ecopark Good Home” (Tel.: 0-800-302-303) to provide the qualified professional advice from the specialists of Good Home, and, in case of need, to call rescuers to help animals.
