The exhibition \u201cHeritage of Ancestors: Trypillian Civilization\u201d opened in the AVEC Gallery.<\/p>\n
“Many museums of the world may envy this exposition of Trypillian ceramics” \u2014 Mykhailo Videyko, the famous Ukrainian archeologist, the Doctor of Historical Sciences told at the opening of exhibition \u201cHeritage of Ancestors: Trypillian Civilization\u201d in the AVEC Gallery. According to him, the presented artifacts from the Feldman Family Museum collection impress not only with their number (about 200) and undamaged condition, but also with their uniqueness. Many of them never meet in other museum collections of Ukraine and abroad.<\/p>\n
“This collection is essential for archeology and historical science.The point is that painting of Trypillian pottery vessels is a some kind of pictographic writing demanding interpretation. The repeating patterns, zoomorfic and anthropomorphic images are not just a decor, but the encyclopedia of the most ancient civilization existing in the territory of Ukraine centuries before construction of the Egyptian pyramids \u2014 Mykhailo Videyko noted. \u2013 The more such pictographic “texts” are at the disposal of scientists, the more chances to reveal the past secrets. Therefore, continuing Ancient Egyptian hints, one may say, that this perfectly remained ceramics, perhaps, the Trypillian Rozetta Stone waiting for Champollion”.
\nIt should be noted that the exhibition \u201cHeritage of Ancestors: Trypillian Civilization\u201d which exhibits objects from the Feldman Family Museum collection opened in the AVEC Gallery on September 21. It is prepared to acquaint Ukrainians, first of all, the Kharkiv citizens and city visitors, with artifacts of ancient culture of farmers, which covered the lands of Dniester and Dnieper areas in the Eneolithic Period. “Tripillia is the first bread, the first metal, the beginning of agricultural outlook on the land which we now call Ukraine. The creators of a Trypillian civilization together with other people stood at the origins of Europe and exerted huge impact on all our culture” \u2014 the organizers of an exhibition tell.<\/p>\n
The exhibition \u201cHeritage of Ancestors: Trypillian Civilization\u201dwill be open through December 3. The entrance is free. The AVEC Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. without weekends.
