\u201cSometimes irreparable things happen. 32 years ago, a disaster happened at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Since that time, the world seriously revised the approaches to nuclear power industry, and, perhaps, became a little safer in this sense. However, there is still an exclusion zone almost in the heart of Ukraine, with its gaping wound of empty towns and villages,\u201d Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman wrote on his Facebook page.<\/p>\n
He noted that Chernobyl disaster caused a serious damage to the nature. 24,000 years are needed to completely rehabilitate and clean this zone.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut the nature, perhaps, not so fast, but will definitely come into its own. Nevertheless, it is still difficult to imagine the scale of human disaster. Hundreds of thousands of people, families were deprived of their homes suddenly. They thought they were living for several days, but eventually they had left forever. The health of several generations was undermined. It is just impossible to fix this. But it is possible and it is necessary to make everything possible to minimize the probability of similar catastrophes in the future,\u201d Mr. Feldman emphasized. \u201cNow we know almost everything about the reasons for these accidents and about how destructive were the attempts of the authorities to conceal the real scales from the population. We actually have a ready algorithm of what should not be done. First of all, political expedience should not be more important than human lives and health. In memory of the heroic liquidators, of the ruined destinies, of the lands abandoned by people, we must follow this algorithm under any circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n
