The “50\u042550” exhibition will open in the AVEC Gallery on March 6, (the beginning is at 18:00.) The painting and sculpture of two modern Ukrainian artists \u2013 Taras Ghrihoruk and Victor Prodanchuk will be presented here. According to art critics, both artists work in line with ethno symbolism and folkloristics in the Post-Modern plastically pictural evocation. The exposition combined several tens of works in the “50\u042550” format.<\/p>\n
“The idea of this exhibition was born in one of galleries of Venice at the intersection of careers of two Ukrainians \u2013 the artist Taras Ghrihoruk from Paris and the sculptor Victor Prodanchuk from Lviv. Their creativity is spiritually and esthetically close, it is based on well acquired academic traditions, filled with folk images and antiquity, at the same time it follows the lead of the modern European art \u2014 Elena Pozdnyakova, the director of the AVEC Gallery explained the concept of the “50\u044550” exhibition. \u2014 The emergence of creative tandem synthesizing sculpture and painting in common space, filling it with new meanings was quite predictable. In particular, I’d like to draw the attention of the audience to the multicolored plastic compositions which are presented in our exposition. This “sculpture and painting” is created by Taras and Victor (in co-authorship.)”
\nIt should be noted that Taras Ghrihoruk is one of those artists belonging to the leading figures of the modern Ukrainian art and is a representative of the generation of the Ukrainian artists, known as nonconformists of the last quarter of the twentieth century. He has been living and working in France for long enough. His works are presented in the museums and private collections of different countries, had a success at international auctions, in particular “Sotheby’s” and “Phillips”.<\/p>\n
Victor Prodanchuk works with a sculpture where he combines the Trypillya motives and ultramodern art; in particular, the sculptor applies innovative approaches in plastic arts. The author multilaterally develops the Tree subject that has become a key tuning fork of the “50\u042550” exhibition. The critics note that Victor Prodanchuk’s works are extraordinary and ambiguous. The main challenge of his sculpture is to cause emotions therefore no one remain indifferent.<\/p>\n
