The animal collection of the Regional Landscape Park is again enriched by the animals from one of Baltic countries. This time, the herd of ungulates was enlarged by alpacas and markhors (screw horn goats).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe continue our effective cooperation with Riga Zoo, and it is a very valuable acquisition for our collection,\u201d Feldman Ecopark\u2019s deputy director of zootechnics Valeriia Ivashchenko tells. \u201cThere have already been several alpacas in Feldman Ecopark, while the screw horn goats appeared here for the first time. The animals took the long-distance trip fine and feel themselves fine now.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Valeriia Ivashchenko, the counterparts of Feldman Ecopark in Riga transferred one alpaca male and two females, seven markhor males and two females. The animals are currently settled in the enclosure near the deer, and the visitors are already able to admire the new residents.<\/p>\n
It should be reminded that Feldman Ecopark actively cooperates with Riga Zoo. Within the framework of the international programme of preservation of rare species of animals, the capital of Latvia have already transferred to Kharkiv a kiang female, a lynx male, and nearly 30 exotic birds and animals in October, including capybaras, porcupines, moc\u00f3s, African spoonbills, black crowned and red-crowned cranes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
