The Tit Day holiday devoted to the birds, which spend winters in our region and therefore settle down closer to people, took place in the Regional Landscape Park last weekend.<\/p>\n
The thematic educational competitions and entertaining game programmes devoted to the nonmigrating birds, as well as an interesting master class in bird feeders creation were arranged for the visitors to Feldman Ecopark. The guests together with the young naturalists of Feldman Ecopark learnt to create bird feeders using various objects, and then hung them on the trees. Now, the paths of Feldman Ecopark are decorated with the bird\u2019s \u201crestaurants\u201d made of hollow pumpkins, oranges without core, loaves of bread without crumb, and \u201ceatable\u201d bird feeders in form of hearts made of grains.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is just necessary to use just a bit of fantasy and it will be possible to create a bird feeder using everything at hand, and by this to help the birds to survive during the cold winter time. And we wanted to demonstrate it to the visitors to Feldman Ecopark and, of course, to draw attention to the fact that our feathered friends need help in winter,\u201d the organizers of the holiday told.<\/p>\n
An unusual show was performed during the weekend in the Theatre of Children and Animals of Feldman Ecopark. Four dogs (on Saturday) and eight goats (on Sunday) accompanied the trainers and demonstrated their skills at agility competitions. The animals had to overcome various obstacles: barriers, planks, rings, swing and tunnel, and also demonstrated self-control by climbing up a special cube and following the Sit! command.<\/p>\n
It should be reminded that heat-loving animals in Feldman Ecopark zoo have moved to the closed heated enclosures for winter. However, pumas, lynxes, African lions and Bengal tigers stay in their open enclosures as they, as well as Amur tigers are able to bear even strong frosts. Moreover, some primates also stay in open enclosures, like Japanese macaques and Barbary macaques, wolves, the most part of predators and almost all herbivorous animals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
