Ukrainian MP, the founder of the Institute of Human Rights and Prevention of Extremism and Xenophobia (IHRPEX) Oleksandr Feldman expressed condolences to the relatives of victims of the terrorist attack that was committed in New York yesterday.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce again, a terrorist attack was committed with the help of a vehicle. In the heart of New York, near the World Trade Center Memorial, a man driving a pickup truck intentionally turned to the bike path and then hit a school bus. Eight persons died. According to the police, the suspect is a national of Uzbekistan, 29, who demonstrated loyalty to ISIS,\u201d Oleksandr Feldman wrote on his Facebook page. \u201cIt is another one terrible tragedy that happened on the pretext of religious or national hostility. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio declared that the act of terror was intended to \u201cbreak our spirit\u201d and urged Americans to remain strong and do not allow fear and panic to subdue their will.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is another point. Although the terrorists claim they act in the name of their faith and that their war is \u2018sacred,\u2019 it is important to defy this manipulation. There is nothing and cannot be anything \u2018sacred\u2019 in killing. There is neither faith nor will from above behind them. Instead, there is always the lust for power, gain and control behind them. And these vicious motives must be strongly opposed \u2013 in any city, in any country. We deeply mourn together with the relatives and close people of those who died,\u201d the politician emphasized.<\/p>\n
