Ukrainian MP, the founder of Kyiv Interfaith Forum Oleksandr Feldman was elected as a member of the board of the international organization Religions for Peace.<\/p>\n
The relevant decision was made at the assembly of the international organization Religions for Peace, which took place in Rome, Italy, on October 18-19.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe main issue discussed by the representatives of the organization at the forum is the ways to stop violence and make the world better. And once again, everyone agreed that tolerance is a way to peace,\u201d Oleksand Feldman told.<\/p>\n
According to his opinion, religion may and must become an instrument for the construction of better society. \u201cNo religion may be the urge to violence, no acts of violence may be committed in the name of any of religions,\u201d this thought was expressed by all of the participants regardless of the continent and religion, and Pope Francis also focused attention on it during the meeting with the participants of the forum,\u201d Ukrainian MP told.<\/p>\n
According to his words, the possibility of Ukraine\u2019s hosting the assembly of Religions for Peace was also discussed in Rome.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe problem of peace and interreligious dialogue is topical for Ukraine today. I am sure that exactly the consolidation of religions existing in our country may unite our country and guarantee the national unity,\u201d the politician says.<\/p>\n
Oleksandr Feldman has also presented the design of Museum of Religions, which is planned for construction in Kharkiv, in the territory of Feldman Ecopark.<\/p>\n
It should be reminded that Religions for Peace is an influential international religious and pacifist organization with the headquarters in New York. It has a consultative status with UNESCO, UNICEF and United Nations Economic and Social Council.<\/p>\n
The organization unites religious figures from 92 countries of the world.<\/p>\n
