On Saturday, the Regional Landscape Park hosted the participants of the 17th European Football Week \u201cSpecial Olympic Games of Ukraine\u201d for the children with special needs. The sports festival was arranged with the support of the International Charitable Foundation \u201cOleksandr Feldman Foundation\u201d and Kharkiv Regional State Administration.<\/p>\n
Children from seven regional special schools of Kharkiv Oblast took part in the competitions, which took place on the football grounds of the sport complex of Feldman Ecopark. Among these children, there were the kids from Shevchenkovo region, who won the National Football Championship for children with special needs. They will represent our country during the European championship, which will be held in Sweden, the regional coordinator of the Special Olympic Games of Ukraine in Kharkiv oblast Ihor Vyshnia said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe similar football competitions are held in all European cities, including Ukraine. The team from Shevchenkovo will go to Sweden to take part at the European championship on July 13-15. I hope the kids will win a prize-winning place, but that\u2019s not the main goal,\u201d Ihor Vyshnia told. He also reminded that in 2007, the team of Bohodukhiv Special School became a world champion during the special basketball championship in China.<\/p>\n
The general secretary Kharkiv Regional Sport Union of Students Viktor Pavlenko told that these competitions are not the single project implemented together with the Regional State Administration and the International Charitable Foundation \u201cOleksandr Feldman Foundation.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have already hosted a final stage of the regional athletics championship on the sport grounds of Feldman Ecopark. We have defined the total of 8 events to carry out here. The training and qualifying rounds take place in the educational institutions now for the teams to be able to compete for the title of the strongest in the region in Feldman Ecopark. All kids, even the ones with special needs, must live an active life, go in for sports, and take part in various competitions,\u201d Viktor Pavlenko tells.<\/p>\n
It should be reminded that on May 19, the Regional Landscape Park hosted the final stage of the sports project \u201cIAAF Kids\u2019 Athletics\u201d among the students of the comprehensive secondary schools of Kharkiv Oblast. The competitions took place under the patronage of the Regional State Administration and the International Charitable Foundation \u201cOleksandr Feldman Foundation\u201d within the 1,000 Teams Tournament project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
