On Friday, May 19, the Feldman Ecopark received participants of the final part of IAAF Children’s Track and Field Athletics among pupils of general education schools of the Kharkiv region. The Sports Festival took place under the patronage of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration and the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation” within its long-term project 1,000 Teams Tournament.<\/p>\n
The IAAF Children’s Track and Field Athletics Project has been initiated by International Association of Athletics Federations in 2005 and is one of the biggest mass sport development programmes in the world. It is aimed at attaching as many school students as possible to track and field athletics and the Olympic Movement and, thereby, promoting healthy and active lifestyle. During project implementation about one and a half million children from hundred countries were covered under the slogan “Join the Ranks of Olympians\u201d.<\/p>\n
Within the IAAF Children’s Track and Field Athletics Project the Department of science and education of the Regional State Administration, the International Charity Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation”, the Track and Field Athletics Federation of the Kharkiv region, the Kharkiv regional Students’ Sports Union and the Kharkiv department of National Olympic Committee of Ukraine take part in the organization of competitions.<\/p>\n
“This project resumed its full place in the regional sports calendar \u2013 415 teams, more than 5000 participants have already taken part in competitions’ previous starts. Today the final which has gathered 6 best teams from the Kharkiv region took place. The team of the city of Kupyansk (school \u21161) was the best. We congratulate children on a victory!\u201d \u2013 Anatolii Guba, the president of Track and Field Athletics Federation of the Kharkiv region noted. \u2013 It is a great pleasure to hold competitions in such beautiful place. The Feldman Ecopark is a suitable place for track and field athletics and we hope to continue our cooperation in the future”.<\/p>\n
It should be noted that the final of the IAAF Children’s Track and Field Athletics regional competitions which took place in the Feldman Ecopark is the first of a number of sporting events planned for summer and autumn season in the Regional Landscape Park within cooperation of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration and the International Charitable Foundation “Oleksandr Feldman Foundation”.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
