The exhibition of Cossack and Samurai weaponry and signet rings of the Cossack leaders \u201cThe Warrior\u2019s Way \u2013 One for Two\u201d from the private collection of FELDMAN FAMILY MUSEUM will be opened in Vinnytsia Regional Local History Museum (19, Soborna Str., city of Vinnytsia) on May 18, at 5 p.m.. The visitors of the Museum will have a unique opportunity to watch the exposition that includes more than 80 items from the museum collection of collector and patron Oleksandr Feldman.<\/p>\n
The exhibits include the priceless relics of the Cossack era: it is possible to look at sabres, yataghans, knives, daggers, spearheads and tips of bear spears, chisels, as well as signet rings dated to the middle of 16th \u2013 the beginning of 18th centuries. These objects gained sacred meaning in the life of Cossacks: they were heritable and turned from family relics into historical symbols of our country. The exposition also represents the Samurai weaponry: the ancient skilfully adorned swords and other weapons forged by the best Japanese masters.<\/p>\n
Each of these unique items is interesting as a weapons artwork, and as a heraldic attraction, as a rarity related to the destinies of certain people and the historical past. The exhibition makes it possible to draw a parallel between these at first sight different sociocultural phenomena and military traditions. This unexpected comparison helps to know and assess own cultural and historical legacy and to see it in the context of world history. The author of the collection Oleksandr Feldman is sure that the similar exhibitions in Ukrainian museums popularize the history and culture of Ukrainian nation, as it is the cultural heritage that is one of main spiritual columns of Ukrainian State.<\/p>\n
It should be reminded that the exhibition \u201cThe Warrior\u2019s Way \u2013 One for Two\u201d is a historical and educative project of the International Charitable Foundation \u201cOlekdandr Feldman Foundation.\u201d It was launched in March 2016 in Kyiv.
