In the National Center of Folk Culture \u201cIvan Honchar Museum\u201d (Kyiv), the second stage of the intermuseum project \u201cThe Milky Way\u201d was opened. Oleksandr Feldman\u2019s Museum took part in it.<\/p>\n
The combination of the items of Trypillian ceramics from the collection of Oleksandr Feldman\u2019s Museum, one of the exhibit of which \u2013 Trypillian Madonna \u2013 became a symbol of this cultural event, and the works by contemporary artists in the National Center of Folk Culture \u201cIvan Honchar Museum\u201d demonstrates the uninterrupted connection between the antiques and the modernity; it illustrates the reflection of ancient symbols in modern art.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday, when Ukraine hosts Eurovision \u2013 one of the main cultural festivals of Europe, we would like to demonstrate that Ukrainian culture \u2013 both ancient and modern \u2013 has very close connections with the other European civilizations. It is one of the important aspects of our cultural self-identification. And exactly this intermuseum project is aimed at demonstration of the formation of this connections, their importance and influence on modern art,\u201d Ukrainian MP, collector and philanthropist Oleksandr Feldman noted.<\/p>\n
The peculiarity of the exhibition in Ivan Honchar Museum is the reproduction of the line of identity of our culture using the language of symbols and ornamental compositions. It is clearly noticeable through the images of the sacral world in the decoration of the exhibits of the Trypillian culture from the collection of Oleksandr Feldman\u2019s Museum. It seems that they come up form sand \u2018dunes\u2019 of exposition space and freeze in the air.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe exhibition presents the unique artefacts from the collection of our museum \u2013 Trypillian Madonna \u2013 Eneolithic sculpture of a mother holding a child in her arms, as well as the majestic painted tableware, the elegant ornamentation of which reflects the world view of our remote ancestors,\u201d the CEO of Oleksandr Feldman\u2019s Museum Oleksii Artiukhit told.<\/p>\n
The symbolic performances of Moon, \u2018tree of life,\u2019 stylized serpent, rhomb, triangle, etc. pass through the ornaments of Trypillian ceramics and the patterns in the works of applied art of different nations right up to the present time. The works by Alex And, Petro Antyp, Ihor Babii, Volodymyr Bakhtov, Oleksandr Diachenko, Yehor Zihura, Mykola Zhuravel, Oleksii Malykh, Yurii Pikul demonstrate the connections with the Trypillian culture, while meeting the demands of the modern dynamic world.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is important for us to demonstrate not only the identity of Ukrainian art and cultural code, but also the noticeable connection with European art and culture, which is sensed in the master\u2019s works,\u201d one of the exhibition\u2019s curators Svitlana Stoian says.<\/p>\n
The museum exhibits from the collection of Oleksandr Feldman standing on sand dunes and land hills, the video art by Anastasiia Loiko, the decorations by Oksana Tarasevych and the scent \u201cSteppe\u201d by Oleksandr Perevertailo create the presence effect in the vast expanses of Ukrainian steppe. For the first time, a famous Ukrainian architect and designer Serhii Makhno took part in the organization of exhibition space.<\/p>\n
