Lessons for children with violations of mental development took place in the AVEC Gallery on January 11 within the frameworks of the Museum without Barrier program. In 2016, Kharkiv Art Museum began to implement this program aimed at museums and galleries\u2019 opening for those who hardly perceive common excursions in Kharkiv. This year, the lessons were given on the new place for the first time. An excursion to the expositions of the AVEC Gallery, a small New Year\u2019s program with the entertainer, and the origami lessons were carried out for the children. They were able to learn how to create a DIY Christmas tree of paper.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want these children to see more new things, to socialize better and to develop. It is our aim. Similar lessons are very important, as it is the new information for them, the ability to get into the world where they learn how to behave in the unknown territory. Moreover, by creating something with their own hands, they develop sensory motor skills. I think that the kids liked the excursion to the gallery as well. Pictures of winter holidays, and especially the exposition devoted to cats, found a lively response, caused kind and clear emotions of these special children,\u201d the head of the scientific popularization department of Kharkiv Art Museum Iryna Sedeleva emphasized. \u201cIt is a wonderful example of cooperation of Oleksandr Feldman Foundation and Art Museum. The cooperation between the museum and AVEC Gallery exists for many years, as there is always the response of the latter, and the joint work brings only positive emotions.\u201d<\/p>\n
Iryna Sedeleva told that these children visited Feldman Ecopark last autumn, where they enjoyed the communication with animals very much. The possible directions of the future cooperation include the arrangement of the opportunity for the children to plant something with their own hands.<\/p>\n
\u201cChildren found the AVEC Gallery very interesting. They had a rich program and they were able to feel themselves adult. And this was wonderful. Our children draw a little, and they were able to compare the pictures with their works. The atmosphere is good here: it is light, airy and healthful,\u201d Olena Oliinyk, the president of the charitable foundation \u201cCentre for Child Health and Development\u201d (working with the children with violations of mental development) noted.
