Within the framework of cooperation between Ukraine and Italy from September 30 to October 3, 2016 in Kiev and Kharkiv the welfare festival “A heart bigger, than war” took place. The Emmaus Public Organization and the Center of the European Humanitarian Researches of National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy were organizers of a festival. The International Charitable Foundation \u201cOleksandr Feldman Foundation\u201d became the partner of the ceremony.<\/p>\n
“In focus of attention of “A heart bigger, than war” festival \u2014 physical, psychological and social resettlement of the war-stricken people. This process has medical, psychological, educational and other components. Therefore we tried to involve as many public organizations, charity foundations with a similar perspective and, the main thing, – general ideology as possible. It is based on understanding that today it is necessary to cultivate the new humane attitude towards war-affected people, \u2013 the director of PO “Emmaus” Lally Leparteliani told. \u2013 The \u201cOleksandr Feldman Foundation\u201d became this ideologically aligned partner with which we cooperated earlier and realized \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 collaborative art projects in Feldman E\u0441opark”.<\/p>\n
The “Social and Medical Rehabilitation \u2014 New Challenges” conference became the final event of the festival’s open program organized with assistance of ICF \u201cOleksandr Feldman Foundation”. Foreign and Ukrainian experts, as well as representatives of the volunteer organizations of Kharkiv participated in this conference.<\/p>\n
“We arrived by the invitation of our Ukrainian friends to share experience of the long-term work in Italy. Our task is to tell about technologies, methods which we use to help people with special needs to overcome pain \u2013 physical and sincere, – the director of the rehabilitation center “Sim-patia” Irma Misalya told. \u2013 The main aim of our center is to help these people in approaching that way of life they led before misfortune. We constantly tell them and show in practice that life doesn’t end with disability.
