The new project of the zoo development within the Feldman Ecopark complex will be presented at the Annual Conference of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) that will take place this week in Belfast (Northern Ireland).<\/p>\n
It should be noted that this spring, the Feldman Ecopark has already got the CFM status at EAZA by a majority vote.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe CFM status means that the next stage is a membership,\u201d the Feldman Ecopark\u2019s director Andriy Roshchupkin notes. \u201cThe Ecopark has a zoo of completely new type. Perhaps, it is the first similar zoo not only in Ukraine, but also in the world. At the same time, it develops according to EAZA\u2019s regulations. This provides more opportunities not only for the exchange of animals with the zoos of Europe and the world, but also for the cooperation and experience sharing with the best European and other specialists.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Andriy Roshchupkin, rehabilitation \u2013 the social, medical, and psychological one \u2013 is the main mission of the Ecopark as of today.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur animals are unique, we train them as therapists. Our zoo collection is developed based on the needs in rendering medical and psychological assistance to people,\u201d the Feldman Ecopark\u2019s director explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is very important that Kharkiv zoo to follow our way. Its delegation also takes part in the EAZA Conference,\u201d Andriy Roshchupkin added.<\/p>\n
