On August 24, 2016 at 10:30 for the 25th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine in Taras Shevchenko’s museum in Kanev (Shevchenkovsky National Reserve) the exhibition of the Cossack and Samurai weapon, and also signet rings Cossack top kick opens: “A way of the soldier – one for two” from the private FELDMAN FAMILY MUSEUM collection.<\/p>\n
Within a month visitors of the museum of Taras Shevchenko will have a fine opportunity to get acquainted with an exhibition exposition where about 80 objects from museum of the collector and the patron Alexander Feldman are presented. Among exhibits there are invaluable relics of the Cossacks – along with sabers, yataghans, knives, daggers, edges of spears and forks and hatchet hammers\u00a0 it is possible to see top kick symbols – distinctions: a flanged mace, a silver belt, and also signet rings or signets of the middle of XVI – the beginning of the 18th centuries.<\/p>\n
These objects in the Cossack life purchased sacral value: they were descended and over time turned from family relics into historical symbols of our country. The samurai weapon – the ancient elegantly decorated samurai swords, and also other weapon shaped by the best Japanese masters are presented in exposition. The sword of the Samurai is considered sacred. A basis of education of each boy in Japan is the code of samurai ethics – bushido (a way of the soldier). This is the implementation of ideas of patriotism, courage, commitment to the people. Each of these unique objects is interesting and as work of weapon art, and as heraldic sight, and as the rarity connected with destinies of specific people and historical past.<\/p>\n
The exhibition gives an opportunity to draw parallels between such different at first sight sociocultural phenomena and military traditions as the Cossacks and the Samurai. But unexpected comparison helps to learn and estimate own cultural and historical heritage, to see it in the context of world history, to certify the weight of moral values – courage, honor, patriotism, self-sacrifice in modern Ukrainian society. The author of a collection Alexander Feldman is sure that such exhibitions in the Ukrainian museums popularize history and culture of the Ukrainian people, namely the cultural heritage is one of the main pillars of majesty of the Ukrainian State.
