From June 17 to June 21 the pupils of Club of Young Naturalists Feldman Ecopark did practical training on the basis of the Biological research station Karazin Kharkiv National University. Located in National natural park “Gomolshansky Woods”, it is equipped for scientific work and comfortable stay of pupils, and an environment is created by a wide range of opportunities for studying of various biological objects. Here young naturalists of Feldman E\u0441opark come every summer within already five years. Classes with them are given by the staff of Research and Production Enterprise “Gomolshansky Woods”, teachers of botany and zoology of Karazin Kharkiv National University.<\/p>\n
The program of practice on the best biological research station of Sloboda Ukraine was saturated and intensive. It included the morning and evening excursions acquainting with various biotopes \u2013 a mountain oak grove, a floodplain forest, an upland meadow, and dead lakes. Young naturalists studied the variety of flora and fauna typical for our region.<\/p>\n

“Practice \u2014 one of the main and necessary moments in natural-science, namely biological education. Only in nature, at direct contact with live objects the child can form a system idea of biology, communities, features of development both a biont, and a complex of living beings”, \u2013 the tutor of Club of Young Naturalists Feldman Ecopark Svetlana Pavlenko tells.<\/p>\n
According to her, summer practice is of great importance for professional education and the choice of specialty as it acquaints young naturalists with work of scientists-biologists in field conditions, with features and labor input of their researches.<\/p>\n
\u00a0“It is useful also that the young naturalist can “find himself” during such practice. That is to decide on the sections of biology interesting him and in general to understand, whether he should be a biologist \u2014 Svetlana Pavlenko emphasizes. \u2014 Besides, here children annually learn something new about the native land as nearby there are several historical landmarks which they surely visit, listen to lectures on geography and geology.
