\n\u201cThe World Press Freedom Day is marked every year on May 3,\u201d Ukrainian MP noted. \u201cThis day, the Declaration of Windhoek was signed. This is the day, when the actions to support freedom of expression are held worldwide, the lists of enemies of free press are made, and the UNESCO\/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize is awarded.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe politician noted that the importance of mass media can scarcely be overestimated in today\u2019s society. \u201cThis day is an annual reminder for all of us that the freedom of expression and press is the fundamental right under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the basis of a civilized democratic society,\u201d Oleksandr Feldman told.<\/p>\n
\nThe politician also wished everyone to be sure that the word of each participant of public opinion shaping in our country was not only free, but also true and not used for various incitements and hate propaganda.
