With the coming of spring warmth, Feldman Ecopark’s animals become more active. Though the most part of animal collection (about 70%) will be moved from winter enclosures to expositional ones only in April when night temperature is steadily above zero, there is much more noise and revival in a Multi-Complex already now. Bears, groundhogs and tortoises come out of hibernation. Birds begin a spring descant and nest building. Ungulates arrange mating dance, predators try to spend time lazing in the sun. Some animals, for example, rodents and apes, have an addition in spring and new bothers with it. The specialists of Feldman Ecopark told on that and other changes in life of animals.<\/p>\n
\n“This transition period is very important for animals therefore we try to pay more attention to conditions in which they are held: we watch their health and behavior, change elements of environmental enrichment, adjust diet. For example, we try to give more vitamins and less calories \u2014 told in Feldman Ecopark. \u2013 We add fruit and vegetables instead of grain and compound feed to a forage of herbivorous. We arrange fasting days and a fitness diet for predators to work off excess weight after winter. Besides, we tidy up enclosures and decorate them as in spring, we fill pools with water \u2013 it is important for animal wellbeing and is pleasing to the eye of visitors.”<\/p>\n
\nIt should be reminded that the animal collection of the Social and Humanitarian Multi-Complex comprises more than 2,000 animals of nearly 300 species.<\/p>\n
\nBesides, it should be reminded that the traditional release will take place in Feldman Ecopark on April 7.
